Joe Biden Plans to Limit How Much Beer Americans Can Drink? Nope, Just a Lie from Ted Cruz

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz in a recent interview with Fox News speaks out against Joe Biden's plan to enact a guideline limit for Americans to only drink 2 beers a week. He then clips this part of the interview and uploads to social media platform X where it garners over 2.5 million views as of writing. He exclaims his distaste of the liberal agenda in his caption.

"What is it with liberals wanting to control every aspect of your life? If they want us to drink two beers a week, frankly they can kiss my ass."

Of course after hearing this news Americans were in an outrage. And of course they are, anyone would be because of how bizarre of a rule this is! It's almost so bizarre it doesn't feel real. Oh wait it isn't real!

Joe Biden has never once said anything about this guideline nor has anyone from congress. White House spokesperson Kelly Scully has had to come out and say that the plan is "absolutely false."

Even though this statement from Ted Cruz was absolutely false and had no ground, it still spread like wildfire. This is a perfect example of how easy it is to spread misinformation. All it took was a person of a powerful position to have an interview with a giant media house like Fox. And then a simple post of said interview on a platform like X.

  1. I fully agree with your point of view on how easy it is for false information to spread, especially when it comes from powerful people and is spread by the media. It's scary how quickly fake stories can spread and lead people astray. I was also interested when I heard about the two-beer-a-week rule. Even though it wasn't true, it's interesting how a crazy thought can make people angry and spread quickly. This event shows how important it is to check facts and think critically in the digital age.

  2. Just wow...

I am pretty sure this story originated because there were talks of some new health recommendations. Even with that, I am not sure if that is true either. With this story, I think of recommendations from organizations that say only to eat (for example) red meat once a week. No one is forcing Americans to abide by any health recommendations for food. And to be honest, Ted Cruz knew he was lying, and that is something we see time and time again with media and politics. Politicians know if something is clearly a lie, but they are hoping viewers believe the lies.
